These are casual virtual meetups to talk about translation, mainly between Japanese and English. We share experiences, questions, readings, strategies, tools, travails, and trivia, with different conversations every time. New participants are most welcome! The one-hour sessions, moderated by Daniel Morales, start at 8:00 p.m. JST on the first Tuesday of the month. For brief reports of previous meetings, see here. 

May 5: With Golden Week hitting at the start of May, we thought it might be helpful to discuss how translators take vacations. Or maybe, whether translators take vacations? For those freelancing or running their own companies, it can be difficult to find time away from work. How do you handle weekends and other conventional “free time”? Do you block off time to yourself and alert clients in advance?
