Details are available on the JAT website, but it's time to Register Now!

JAT is holding its 24th annual Japanese-English translation conference on June 1 and 2, 2013 at the Hawaii Imin International Conference Center (East-West Center), Honolulu. The official IJET-24 program starts with a Hawaiian-style blessing, followed by a plenary session on “The Contribution of Japanese Dialects to Hawaiian Pidgin.”

The concurrent breakout sessions on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday will cover a variety of topics, such as translation as an entrepreneurial business, pharmaceuticals, ethics, law, and monozukuri. To take full advantage of the interpreting facilities, a four-session lineup of interpreting presentations and workshops will cater to beginning and advanced interpreters and translators, who are looking to learn more about interpreting. Professors from the University of Hawaii also will present about academic and scholarly translation, and teaching translation.

The banquet on Saturday night will be held at the Waikiki Aquarium.

Brush up your translation skills in a relaxed environment and enjoy networking with fellow translators in some spectacular scenery.

When planning your trip, consider coming on Friday, May 31 or even earlier to catch the JAT-LAW and JAT-PHARMA SIG meetings, which will be held on Friday afternoon, and the Zenyasai on Friday evening at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel, the official IJET-24 hotel.
