Tokyo International Literary Festival 2014
The Tokyo International Literary Festival 2014 will run from February 28 (Fri.) to March 9 (Sun.) with many events of great interest. While last year the focus was mainly on Japanese and Western writers, this time authors from Europe and Asia will also be participating. Other plans include the celebration of the release of Monkey Business 4, as well as an event for the publication of the special Japan issue of Granta. Satellite events will be held as well. Visitors can wander along to the one of the many book fairs or live readings being held around Tokyo before and during the festival period; enjoy a special showing of The Woman with the 5 Elephants, a film portraying translator Svetlana Geier, followed by a talk by translator Sachiko Kishimoto on the attraction of translation; celebrate International Women’s Day with a talk by two contemporary Spanish writers; and more. See the links below for more details.
