October 22 - 25th Anniversary Lecture and Celebration

Special Anniversary Lecture

Lessons Learned in the Self-Employment Game: How to Market Yourself
with fond memories of the early days of SWET
Speaker: Ruth P. Stevens, from New York

One of the founding members of SWET, Stevens worked in Japan from 1974 to 1983, where she published a still-famous guidebook to the city of Kanazawa and served as book editor at John Weatherhill, Inc.

Moving from writing and editing to a career specializing in direct marketing, she worked for Time Warner for seven years, then Ziff-Davis, and later IBM. She developed an interest in business-to-business marketing, and she started her own company in 2000. She is the author of two books, The DMA Lead Generation Handbook, published in 2002, and Trade Show and Event Marketing, published by Thomson in 2005.
