January 28 - New Year’s Parties (yes, two of them)

Saturday, 28 January
Party 1 (1:30 pm—5:00 pm)
The first party is an afternoon buffet at the Jewel of India restaurant in Roppongi, where a feast of fine Indian food awaits up to 35 party-goers. The party starts at 1:30 pm and finishes at 5:00 pm.
The menu arranged for ¥4,000 includes (subject to change and additions):
Vegetarian Appetizers and Salad
- Punjabi Samosa (vegetarian spicy filled pastries)
- Til Ke Kebab (vegetarian kebab—distinctive texture & flavor)
- Mixed Salad (vegetarian)
Meat from the Tandoori Oven
- Tandoori Chicken (spicy, hot and juicy)
- Seekh Kebab (savory ground lamb with exquisite spices)
Curries (buffet style)
- Aloo Gobi (vegetarian cauliflower & potato—mild)
- Dal Makhini (vegetarian small beans in a rich brown curry)
- Sag Chicken (chicken chunks with finely minced spinach)
- Kadai Mutton (creamy savory curry with chunks of mutton)
Extras
- Naan bread (from the tandoori oven)
- Basmati rice
Dessert
- Gulab Jamun (extremely sweet cake balls in honey)
Drinks are all ¥500 at the cash bar.

Party 2 (6:00 pm—8:00 pm)
For those who are unable to attend the first party, or who are unwilling to let the fun end so early in the evening, a second party has been arranged at the Beer Club Popeye in Ryogoku.
This is restricted to 20 people. Those moving from the first party at Roppongi to Ryogoku can do so easily by means of a 30-minute subway trip on the Ōedo line.
As the name of the venue suggests, this is a beer party, but this is far from being typical beer hall fare.
The party charge of ¥2,500 covers two pints of various types of special beer, and light snacks.
