February 23 - SWET Resource Forum and Mini Book Fair 2008

Resource Forum (1:00 - 3:00 p.m.)
What are the burning questions you face now as you pursue your writing, translating, copyediting, editing, English-language publishing or other work? Who has the answers? Where should you go for advice? Who can you collaborate with? What can SWET do for you? What can you do for SWET?

Open to members and non-members alike, the SWET Resource Forum offers an opportunity to address questions to veteran professionals in a variety of wordsmithing professions, as well as present requests and suggestions for SWET activities throughout the year. Take this opportunity to tap SWET resource persons on hand, sound off on questions and concerns, and enjoy a chance for informal networking and information-sharing.

The SWET members present will share their expertise in the following fields: J-E translation, editing, copyediting, proofreading, editing translations, writing, rewriting, technical writing, copywriting, design and layout.

Mini Book Fair (1:00-5:00 p.m.)
A book fair will be held simultaneously in the same room. SWET invites you to recycle some of the titles on your bookshelves. Bring all the books you can carry, and try to choose titles you think will really sell (we don’t have much room for storage). Those who bring books will receive credit at the door toward purchase of books already there or purchased at future SWET book sales.

Take this opportunity to buy your SWETshirts (all sizes available) and handy SWET totebags (white and black). The book sale and SWETshirt/bag sale are fund-raising events for SWET.
