Karen Hill Anton, who wrote the popular column “Crossing Cultures” and whose work appeared in the Japan Times 1979-1999, will speak about her work writing for newspapers—- how she got started, the work of an opinion columnist, readers’ reactions and responses. The author of a novel currently under consideration for publication, she will also discuss publishing successes and failures.

Karen Hill Anton, whose home is in Tenryu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, teaches writing at Temple University Japan.
