Lexicographer and linguist Peter Sharpe will share his recent experience in finding a publisher for a variety of books--a dictionary, an SF novel, and two academic works on language. His talk will focus on (1) knowing the market; (2) doing something different; (3) getting the book proposal right, and (4) using personal contacts.
SWET founding member Ruth Stevens is visiting Japan and SWET. An expert in business marketing based in New York, she hopes to catch up with old friends and share anecdotes from the old days as well as her recent activities on the front lines of business consulting. She will be presenting at ACCJ on Friday the 28th.
This talk and visit by Ruth provide the occasion for us to come together, invite friends to join us, invite non-SWET members to come for a taste of SWET camaraderie, and see each other again. Let’s take advantage of this chance.
To increase the enjoyment of this late-afternoon/evening informal, networking and social event, please bring something to eat and drink and share if you wish. Soft drinks and cups, etc. will be provided.
