Minae Mizumura: One Passage, Seven Translations
At SCBWI Japan Translation Day on October 18, participants (including members of SWET) submitted translations for critique by Juliet Winters Carpenter during a 90-minute workshop. The workshop focused on A True Novel by Minae Mizumura.

Japan Writers Conference Upcoming in October
The Japan Writers Conference (JWC) has just announced more details on its 2014 Japan Writers Conference event, which are now up on the JWC website. Over the next few weeks, schedules and maps will be posted.

New E-book Released, SWET Members in Action
A new e-book reflecting SWET member involvement has recently been published. SWET writer and editor Ted Taylor is co-editor of Deep Kyoto: Walks, along with Michael Lambe.
